    • Serves as the Director of Training, as described in the Aviation Training Manual.
    • Coordinates and conducts the orientation of new pilot staff.

    Works in a patient care environment in and around aircraft and is exposed to possible infectious diseases and chemical toxins. Position may require sitting for long periods of time in a helicopter or in an office environment. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Exposed to non-conventional motion, noise, vibration, jet fumes, and extreme temperatures. Working conditions in or near aircraft and/or an aircraft hangar environment on a daily basis and may be exposed to loud aircraft noise, fumes, gases, odors, dust particles, and mechanical and electrical hazards. Travel may be required. Employee may not exceed 275lbs in weight in flight gear. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.     Nicholas Air is seeking a qualified Part 119 candidate for our opening as Chief Pilot. The candidate must have recent experience compliant with FAA regulations to ensure no waiver requests are necessary upon nomination to the FSDO.     The Chief Pilot is responsible for the Flight Department’s day-to-day operations, flight crew training, all flight training manuals, and to revise such manuals subject to final approval of the Director of Operations. The Chief Pilot’s qualifications must meet the minimum requirements set forth in FAR119.71(c). The Chief Pilot is also responsible for exercising Operational Control, as delegated by the Director of Operations, under FAR Part 135.77 and FAA Operations Specifications Paragraph A008, the performance of assigned flight crews and assigned office personnel, and to ensure a safe, cost-effective and reliable operation, in accordance with established company policies, the Federal Aviation Regulations, and Operations Specifications, and consistent with client expectations.

    • Possess outstanding communications skills both in person and via phone/video conference.
    • Free of any documented flight violations, mishaps or incidents in the past 10 years.
    • Candidate will be expected to fly as necessary to meet flight schedule requirements.
    • Experience as a check airman is preferred but candidates with significant ME CFI time will be considered.
    • A minimum of 2,500 hours total flight time and at least 500 hours of multi-engine PIC time in a Part 135 environment.

    Position Description:

    An Immediate opening for a Chief Pilot for a part 135/91 operator. Alerion Aviation is a part 135/91, ARGUS Platinum and IS-BAO Stage III rated operator with locations in Southern California, New Jersey, New York, Delaware and South Florida. The Chief Pilot has responsibility for supervising all activities of the flight department, both in the air and on the ground, and may assist and oversee duties of operational control when delegated by the Director of Operations for safe and legal operations conducted by the Company and its employees. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the items listed in the job requirements.

    Position Requirements:

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Operates company aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, while ensuring total compliance with all government rules and regulations, manufacturers’ limitations and manuals, and to the Safety Management System
    • Coordinates flight operations and scheduling with Dispatch, Charter Sales and Manager of Flight Operations and Training
    • Ensures all proper pre-flight inspections and preparations have been performed prior to takeoff, including, but not limited to, those related to the aircraft he/she may be flying on and other equipment, airport and runway suitability, requisite documentation and publications (for domestic and international customs, airport authorities, regulatory agencies, etc.), fuel, passenger services items, weather conditions enroute and at the destination(s), permits, aircraft maintenance services and storage, etc.
    • Coordinates and reconciles maintenance scheduling with the maintenance department and charter sales in order to avoid conflicts (to the highest degree possible), ensuring maximum uptime and availability
    • Confirms that all embarked persons (both crew and passengers) possess valid and current passports, visas, and/or official documents of U.S.A. resident status (“green cards,” when applicable) that are appropriate for the flight and takeoff/landing jurisdiction
    • Completes and submits all requisite reports to operations, accounting and maintenance departments in an accurate and timely manner
    • Maintain currency and training on a company aircraft type as required for Part 135
    • Ensuring that all flight crew are certified and supervised according to the requirements specified in the Federal Aviation Regulations
    • Coordinates contract pilots, as necessary, and helps performs first line review and approval of all associated scheduling, costs, and expenses, while observing company specific guidelines
    • Hires and supervises all flight crew personnel within the flight department

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
