    The Boeing Company is looking for a Chief Pilot Global Engagement Flight Operations Senior Manager to join our team in Seattle, WA at Boeing Field.  This roles primary responsibility will be to provide oversight of Global Engagement Pilots customer engagement and flight operations activities.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Operates aircraft and manages Global Engagement pilots and mid-level managers performing aircrew duties, including activities to manage Global Engagement pilots in their duties supporting Boeing commercial aircraft customer flight operations
    • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
    • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
    • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with Boeing commercial airplane customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
    • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
    • Manages, develops, trains and evaluates Global Engagement pilots and mid-level managers

    The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher
    • Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with appropriate endorsements
    • 15+ years of management experience with a medium to large commercial carrier operations team
    • Experience in use of commercial carrier safety management systems

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • FAA type rated pilot and actively flying the 737 -8/9 airplane

    Job Responsibilities – Chief Pilot

    1. Manages flight crewmembers (pilots and flight attendants), including hiring, indoctrination, and training. Develops and manages flight crewmember performance with an emphasis on ensuring that all flight crewmembers adhere to safety, technical and service standards and function together as a team.
    2. Develops, implements and monitors operating standards and procedures for flight crewmembers. Ensures that standards and procedures comply with regulatory and manufacturer guidance and align with industry best practices. Develops, monitors and maintains operational documentation, including the department operations manual. Communicates pertinent changes and revisions to affected personnel.
    3. Establishes and maintains flight crewmember training and performance (safety, technical and service) standards in coordination with the Director of Aviation. Ensures that crewmembers have the knowledge of aircraft systems, equipment, and operating limitations necessary for the safe conduct of flight operations on each aircraft to which they will be assigned duty.
    4. Identifies and maintains relationships with vendors who support company flight operations. Coordinates process with the Corporate Aircraft leadership team to ensure departmental needs and impacts are considered, and benefits are maximized.
    5. Obtains and maintains regulatory authorizations with states having jurisdiction over aircraft operations conducted by the Corporate Aircraft Department.
    6. Acts as a pilot on each aircraft type to which they are assigned a duty position. Maintains a high degree of operational and systems knowledge on each aircraft type.
    7. Works closely with the Corporate Aircraft leadership team to ensure effective communication and coordination among all personnel groups in support of the department’s goals and objectives. Fosters an atmosphere of trust, support and respect by modeling behavior that embodies Liberty Mutual’s Identity and Values.

    Preparation, Training and Experience

    • Valid FAA ATP w/Multiengine Land rating

    Reports to the Director of Operations for National Jets, the Chief Pilot is responsible for managing all activities pertaining to the company’s pilots.     ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
    The Chief Pilot assigns and supervises the duties of flight and ground personnel and manages the overall operation of the aviation department, including coordinating aircraft maintenance with flight scheduling.
